Harvest

at

Esslingen

is Back!

Ready to pick with us!

In coordination with the Bader family, Really Grape is helping organize this year's volunteer harvest (again). This is a true hands-on harvest — you'll work in the vines until the job is done, hand in hand with the winemaker, just like generations before.

If you are unfamiliar with the Esslingen harvest — it runs for about 3 weeks. Different dates come up each week, and sometimes dates pop up randomly. Harvest can also be rescheduled due to weather.

What Really Grape handles for you:

🍇 Confirms your spot directly with the Baders
🍇 Sends you all the details (where to go, what to bring, timing)
🍇 Keeps you updated if harvest is postponed or canceled
🍇 Covers you for the whole season — join multiple harvest days once you're in the group
🍇 Manages the WhatsApp group so you see all available dates as they are announced

Last year we coordinated over 800 people for harvest in Germany — this system makes it easier for both the volunteers and the winemakers.

Once you've signed up, you'll be added to the WhatsApp group where all dates are posted.

Attendance Policy

The Bader family counts on every set of hands during harvest. If you confirm a date and do not show up without notice, you may be removed from the group and will not be invited to future harvest days.

❓ Harvest FAQs

What are the dates?

Dates are different each week. We ONLY update in the whatsup group.

Do I need harvest experience?
No. The Bader team will show you what to do. If you can use garden shears, you can harvest.

What if the weather is bad?
Harvest happens rain or shine, but if conditions are unsafe we will reschedule and notify the WhatsApp group immediately.

Can I bring my kids?
This is a physical workday with sharp tools and uneven terrain. It may not be suitable for children under 10. Use your best judgment.

What to wear & bring?

  • Comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dirty
  • Long pants (helps protect against scratches in the vines)
  • Layers - mornings can be chilly, afternoons warm
  • Waterproof jacket if rain is in the forecast
  • Closed-toe shoes or boots with good grip (vineyards can be muddy/slippery)
  • Gardening/work gloves (optional but recommended)
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Snacks (the Baders will provide lunch, but bring something if you have dietary needs or need to eat in between)
  • Small backpack or bag to keep your hands free
  • Sunscreen + hat for sunny days
  • A change of clothes/shoes for after harvest (you will get muddy!)
  • Baby wipes - the grapes are sticky

⚠️ Disclaimer⚠️

Harvest is a physical activity in the vineyard and may not be advisable for anyone who is pregnant, has a serious injury, or for children under 10.
